Hey guys. Well I guess if you are here you are probably a bit curious about us. Charlie and I got married in June of 1998 in beautiful Lexington VA. We have so far been blessed with 2 wonderful kiddos. We "planned" homebirths with both of them. Um, I guess I will give you a bit more info. so you can see where we are coming from in other areas of this site. Our life revolves around family, so that is what we focus on. I guess you could say that in everything we do we strive to come as close as possible to what we believe is God's natural design. We are a Christian unschooling family. We do not believe in circumcision and we do not vaccinate. In fact, so far, we have never even felt the need to take the kids to the doctor. We are not "opposed" to doctors, and would use them should an emergency arise, but for most ailments we feel they are unnecessary and can even be potentially harmful. We believe strongly in Gods perfect design of the human body. We believe that the body functions perfectly in childbirth and in it's abilities to heal itself in most cases. We use God-given herbs and other "alternative" forms of "medication" during illness when we deem it is necessary. We try to eat healthy and organic if possible (though I love my ice-cream!!). We hope to one day have some land so that we can grow/raise much of our own food. We share sleep with our children and keep them as close as possible until they decide they are ready to separate. I make and sell baby slings and baby carriers so that others can enjoy keeping their babies close. I nurse my children until they decide they are ready to stop. Currently both are still nursing. I have never given my children formula (or even commercial baby food) as I believe strongly in God's design of mother's milk as the best nutrition for babies. We strive to use gentle, positive discipline with our kids. I am home with our kids everyday and I love it!!
As much as we love our kids we do enjoy other things . . . art, trees, music, movies, animals, archaeology, etc.
